The Graveyard of This Empire.

Author Note: The delay that attended this essay stemmed from an impending move on Mr. Jualian Assange and moves on other writers in different countries of The West, not many but anticipated to increase. As examined previously and further on, the Rule of Law has given way to Lawfare, first discussed in the second essay of February 1st, 2022 and again more recently in Ukraine Notes - The Long Proxy War IV, July 30th, 2022. Respect for Personal Rights and States' Sovereignty is frequently spoken to. The historical record demonstrates that there is no respect for personal rights, nor state sovereignty and that people are used (as pawns) by those in elite positions in pursuit of their personal ambitions or those overarching interests of their class affiliations. That the Ukrainian people have been manipulated to serve both of these interests or otherwise forced at gunpoint to the Russian front is the present case in point. The careless, self-serving decisions made by those in charge in certain Governments and Commerce has brought us to the present realities and they seek to protect themselves via controlled Mainstream Media narratives, the exclusion of those deemed unacceptable as well as applying the ever present iron fist of punitive state power to physically remove people. Timescales for some events can still be seen in years, yet for other events, they gather pace. Critiques of The West do not impute support or admiration for non-Western States or societies although critiques can be said to undermine confidence in The State, an assertion with no quantitative substance and thus impossible to measure. And so - A different writing style is made necessary - qualified, indirect, somewhat vague, questioning. As discussed below . . .

Content Warning: A principle purpose served by open journalism is to highlight beyond the white noise what is important and to make The Important deserving of attention, here also make clear either in implication of by direct reference that the disposal of people of no consequence beyond the immediate circle of those who count, by their exclusive estimations, are of no consequence in the greater measure of things and thus have no place as lead stories in so-called newspapers of record and as to what does appear, sometimes as lead stories, in the so-called newspapers of record, along with their mostly junior or otherwise inexperienced staff, by their self-estimations are indeed papers of record and that record is that they are professional peddlers of narrative trash and outright lies, smoother and more convincing than that characterized by the Soviet Union or Romania under the Cecescu Fascist Regime, with major journalistic threads written by intelligence agencies and paid for advertorials written by corporate marketing professionals that have their special interests to promote - as news.

On the other hand and closer to the present state of affairs - "The situation in The East is now difficult" - Kyiv Defense Minister Ms. Hanna Maliar, June, 2023. Ms. Maliar comes to her position qualified in law and education and is known to appear in military fatigues. By “The East” is meant the Eastern Ukrainian Provinces, now a part of Russia and so goes the major parts of The Ukraine’s natural resources. Here “difficult” means that they have lost and it is now a question of how far west the Russian Armed Forces will eventually advance, entirely their choice, more or less but mostly more, in practical terms a switch from defensive to offensive operations. Difficult to miss is the attention of distant Western Capital Interests given over to The Ukraine, along with certain of The Political Class and so was the Western-backed internal war waged by Kyiv on The Eastern Provinces yet another resources play to wrest it all away from proximal Russian influence and interests?

As with that of Ms. Maliar's, appointments to critical positions reflect a broader Western bias to place ostensibly unsuitable, often young and wholly inexperienced women to Public Relations and Media posts for which they lack relevant qualifications, knowledge, background and psychological temperament, also seen in Australia where they present with Liberal Arts (non)-qualifications, for non-print media displaying voices ranging from the anodyne to that of a tiny squeaky toy, they effectuate false levity and always with the implication that no technical skills are still sufficient to deconstruct the essences within contemporary affairs. They cannot and their appointments are the result of deliberate planning. Matter-of-fact matters shall not be dealt with, they will lie and there is an underlying factor in play - deflection of that which is critical and so if acting as talk show hosts or press secretaries, do so others act with reticence in posing difficult, complex questions, if only for fear of being accused of insensitivity or, horror of horrors, causing others to feel unsafe. These soothing propagandists are the friendly faces of Neo-Fascism. Mass control starts and finishes with the control over language.

The British Imperialists and The Americans have murdered a great many people, The British, mostly in foreign lands far removed and occupied by coloured folk, the American as well along with their own domestic native American Indians and one that qualifies as the most effective genocide of a native population but given that they have now visited war upon a generally white Christian State - Russia, by expending the population of another white Christian State - The Ukraine, along with an historical record of alliances with the most repressive leaderships in Africa, Eastern Europe and South America, one could say that whatever the London and Washington Elites are guilty of, racial discrimination is not one of them. In that sense is everyone expendable and everyone can be used - as their footstool. Under such arrangements, look to see what The Authorities judge as important or of no interest to them and so do they act accordingly.

This painting by featured anti-war artist Vasily Vereshchagin (1842 - 1904) depicts the enforcement of discipline and here, by British soldiers in India, against troublesome colony natives exhibiting rebellious or mutinous behaviour which may have also been made necessary by a lack of food, difficulties in tasks assigned, cruelty by occupying forces, insufficiency of pay, false accusations of poisoning the food fed to British occupiers as well as theft, attacks on the British occupiers and desertion from enforced army service. The purpose of these publicly performed executions was a demonstration of disciplinary measures to the forcibly assembled native populations, out of frame. Cannons were loaded mainly with powder and occasionally with shot, although some of the assembled might be injured seriously were shot to be used. Some were. Birds of prey and wild dogs would come upon the scene in advance and when the cannons fired, the unfortunate prisoners would be dismembered and many quivering parts would, as described, become airborne and the shrieking birds would swoop down to catch pieces of flesh so airborne; wild dogs would make a feast of flesh on the ground. It was noted that these predatory animals had a certain prescience about them and could recognize events about to unfold. Other animals can be keen observers of human behaviour and humans may not be keen observers of those observing them. Suffice to say, these latter events especially horrified the superstitious natives and perhaps inadvertently were more effective in keeping them in line, for a time. The British Armed Forces were not the only colonialists to apply these methods, nor did they invent them.

Wars never just break out.

Western States face into a future within which the trajectories are to be estimated on the Principles of Probabilities than to be circumscribed by Systematic Management for Deterministic Outcomes and The Public Good, arising principally as a result of a loss of cheap industrial inputs - energy, materials, components, products - but not exclusively as The Oligarch Class, known in The West as Benefactors and Philanthropists, insinuate themselves into every important commercial scheme for their own enrichment and distance themselves from Reality. The fate of all Democracies, so-called, as they transition from simple democracies to Rule of The Rich, to internal decay and state collapse. This character is built into civilization itself wherein the few, far removed from the consequences of their decisions, make decisions that affect the many and which, for a time, the outcomes remain unseen and contained. As the American social philosopher Eric Hoffer expressed it - "Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business and eventually degenerates into a racket".

It remains a fact of some note that the decision within the White House to ignore arrangements reached with Soviet Russian-Ukrainian President Gorbachev, circa 1980's and to actually move NATO member state borders and weapons systems towards the Russian western border predates the emergence of President Putin, the present Western nemesis of all things good and wholesome. It remains a fact of some note that only Russia and China can both resist and punish Washington and London for their international free-for-all, read free-for-them interventions and pillaging of other countries, or otherwise provide an umbrella of protection (BRICS) to inhibit Western predations.

And of Western predations . . .

The almost, at least formerly, good-looking Ms. Victoria Nuland, with too many brains to become a vacuous American media star, has exercised her not inconsiderable intellect and talents for Statecraft by appearing to direct in what also appears from some others’ lingering hatred of all things Russian to construct or should one say curate, their present descriptor word of choice, yet another of Washington's Proxy Wars and this one on the world's largest and most resource rich country of which, on the observable outcomes, Ms. Nuland nor they just did not come with quite enough mental power to figure how to pull it all off but with just enough mental power to create another Washington foreign policy and military quagmire. Appearing as she does with the dress costume of another American elite private school educated, professional nation state wrecker, via Washington - London Proxies has she assisted in the excision of a good proportion of the Ukrainian population as the Russian Armed Forces predictably and now as predicted respond with massive force and effect to crush Washington's Ukraina Grandioznaya Skhema. It is written that Afghanistan is The Graveyard of Empires and not long past did Washington ingloriously exit from Afghanistan, with NATO, Britain, Australia and New Zealand forces-for-hire falling in behind, to leave yet another of their Democratism Success Paradigms - a failed state which was a functioning state, more or less, before Washington took more interest. That outcome could, in a crude way, be papered over by Western Mainstream Media professional favourites as Liars for The State and their well scripted, almost casual sounding, distraction narratives, read Infotainment where there is entertainment and no information since while there was nothing positive to say about this campaign, the Afghan State was really of no consequence after all and so was not pitched as an existential threat to Western Interests, whatever that meant. The forthcoming loss in The Ukraine is a loss to Russia by The Forces of Universal Goodness. The Books of Democratic Imperialism (Democratism) shall not be so easily reconciled, balanced out and ruled off as Western Thought Leaders again fail in their Geo-Political Stoichiometry against the Serious Professionals - China and Russia. Just what Western Democratic Imperialism meant has been laid out by Mr. Strobe Talbott some decades past, not that he explicated it all in such concise, clarifying terms, nor devoid of American exceptionalist paradigms.

Ms. Nuland may well know the history and thus the truth. Indeed she may. She may well know This Cause, perhaps her cause and inheritor to the late Dr. Zbigniew Brzeziński's Plans and his ancestral obsession, wish and desire with destroying Russia, is lost. That dead hand from the grave. On appearance she just didn't come with the late Dr. Brzeziński's brains. Perhaps just enough to dig her grave. An unindicted and quite possibly unindictable war criminal? None of the above a precursor for a good night's sleep. Dr. Francis Fukuyama some decades past gratuitously annunciated The End of History, which more or less was to mean that The West prevails and can treat the rest of the world as a mining estate and market for Western goods. Sycophantic media interviewers never wondered whether all that meant state sovereignty was at an end. Of now - Nothing is working out for them and French President Emmanuel Macron announced recently an End of Prosperity. For The West, although that part was omitted. Here Ms.Nuland appears before a congressional committee to make the case for the continuation of White House foreign policies.

"The scale of this war is out of proportion with all of our recent thinking . . . "! Thus spake US Army General Christopher Cavoli, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe, inviting us to consider if he was confirming that they really had no idea what they were doing. Stating the overtly obvious, he advised his audience on elementary matters of Military Industrial Power that "Production capacity remains vital, absolutely vital". More or less meaning that they no longer have it and Russia looks like it does. Hence the false attribution? "The US, Russia, and Europe are already scrambling to ramp up production of artillery shells after letting their munitions stockpiles and factories run down after the Cold War". Since Russia is firing off artillery shells at a rate several times that of this NATO Proxy (as reported) and gives no indication of running out of munitions, is the inclusion of Russia here to provide the necessary false confidence required for the support of The Leadership, including himself? General Cavoli did mention operations NATO conducted and those he recognized as being one of small campaigns against countries that had no hope - say, Serbia in 1999 and Libya in 2011. More recently in The Yemen. Do the Four Star's remarks document a manifest incompetence on the part of decision makers in deliberately going to war without the means to sustain and win a war of duration against an adversary that has, on appearance, more firepower than Haiti, which US Forces also attacked in 1991?

Much talk attends sending F-16 jets to The Ukraine but now with some awareness that those so-called non-existent Russian Defense Systems present a clear and present danger to the operation of F-16 jets or any non-Russian air assets. Alternatively, the intention is to again try to create another of many precedents, this time one that has the Russian Armed Forces strike targets within NATO countries, thus causing them to launch larger attacks on Russia while Washington and London remain remote from that conflict, apart from furnishing munitions and intelligence.

Of the Australian Mainstream Media in their ever sensitive, reflexive and sycophantic goosestepping to Washington's Foreign Policy whims, now characterized by a Kabuki Theatre of fast duct tape repair work to possibly staged military leaks, against the backdrop of the Russian Armed Forces most decisive maneuvers in The Ukraine Proxy War to head West and wipe out all those Kyiv Government sixteen year old conscripts-at-gunpoint teenage soldiers which the always obvious and obviously ignored, ostensibly double dealing President Zelenskyy and his senior officers, the embodiment of Ukrainian carpetbaggers now sternly chastised for skimming off hundreds of millions of American dollars, selling off foreign furnished arms and allegedly placing much money in British island tax havens, the ultimate Greta Thunberg moment - "How dare you!", they - Kyiv, have been rounding up Ukrainian males to send East to the Russian Line of Contact as they run out of Ukrainian hot bodies, they - the Australian Mainstream Media, say just about nothing of it while the Washingtonian Carpetbaggers scramble for that less than more widely broadcast Nomenclature of the Moment phrase, An Off-Ramp, to make some clean face saving creditable exit from their Empire of Lies lies to the Main Game - China.

Superfluous to say, this will not be easy.

Mr. Strobe Talbott, who for a time Ms. Victoria Nuland reported to in his role as a Deputy Secretary within the US State Department, seem to trouble his toweringly important self to put on notice The Rest of Humanity that sovereignty is obsolete and that " . . . all states will recognize a single, global authority", this published July, 1992. That authority is Washington and The United States, not that he averred so explicitly. What he did write was that nation states should allocate powers to a central government while most felicitously explaining that said states should retain many other powers for themselves. It is also notable that Mr. Talbott, implying a global federalism, wrote that such a Federalist Structure " . . . is largely an American invention . . .". Indeed. As for the "retaining many others for themselves" angle, it was also helpfully explained that "The International Monetary Fund can virtually dictate fiscal policies, even including how much tax a government should levy on its citizens. The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade regulates how much duty a nation can charge on imports". A very clear example of that which is hidden, yet pervasive. It could have been added that these are artifacts of Washington's control and global power projection and not the only ones. Control over a state's tax and tariffs is at variance with any significant sovereign state control over its own interests. Since then and not mentioned in Mr. Talbot's essay was the means to monitor a state's international transactions via SWIFT and the control over a state's military affairs, the case now with the preparation for War With China 2025-7 and the armaments buildup of US vassal states within the US Indo-Pacific Command, to be paid for by US vassal states to US armaments manufacturers and possibly fought as US proxy armies.

Mr. Talbott also wrote what some would interpret as predictable self-exculpatory, self-deceiving Democratism historic misrepresentations so frequently employed by elite end-of-town court compliant historians - "The British left their system of civil service in India, Kenya and Guyana, while the Spaniards, Portuguese and French spread Roman Catholicism to almost every continent". The British, French and Spanish did not invade those countries for these purposes, such purposes were for the effective relief of those state's natural resources and use as a market for Western manufactured products exported back and so the narrative predictably, inexplicably overlooks the number of people who were killed and smashed down to insinuate their imperious and important selves onto those far off, resource wealthy lands. Those countries had degrees of industrial advancement, their own religions and their own quite effective languages. Mr. Talbott’s essay left off the English language but other Western historians point to the benefits of English being spread or forced upon the backward Fuzzy Wuzzies far away in the Far Abroad. More to the point, a near admission, perhaps unconsciously, of the elemental Christian Fascism that underpins Western Democratism? As recalcitrant coloured foreigners have been known to remark - They gave us Jesus and took our resources and way of life. Did they indeed. They also laid in with Christian Guilt, so indispensable for population control. Your rewards are in the next life. Ours shall be in this one.

Taking Mr. Talbott's remarks seriously, the British Imperialists benevolently left their system of civil service, railroads and the basis for a liberal democracy by killing a selection of Indians in their benevolent ways and who would have stood up to the British occupation presence but could not. These heart rendering depictions of empire life do not appear in Mr. Talbott's Time Magazine essay, one of Henry Luce's American firster publications, nor on postcards to be mailed off by resident Brits to the folks back home. Incidentally, the modern German State, as successor to the German Nazi State which ceased to function in 1945, has paid reparations to Jewish and other people who were subject to the organized murder of civilians. The British State, which continued its imperial occupations decades beyond that and in Kenya, Malaya and other states has paid virtually no reparations that are known of, that is, paltry sums to the very few, a maneuver preempted by the destruction of massive quantities of documents as the British were forced to leave occupied states. Should the British Crown be required to pay proper reparations, it would most likely be bankrupt and one reason certain British media produce polished entertainment programs - aka Politics of Distraction.

In essence, The West's Ukrainian Proxy War is also a global war on state sovereignty, the choices of China, Russia and other states to determine their own arrangements against those of The West, sometimes described as Atlanticist Integrationists, that Global Authority previously averred to.

It is also reported that it was Mr. Talbott's planning input within the Clinton Administration that expanded NATO to include former Warsaw Pact states and against the advice of people who knew better, including Mr. George Kennan. Their advice was subordinated and NATO expanded. Rather than increasing European security, outcomes diametrical to stated intentions arose and which bring us to the present moment.

Concerning Washington's ever vigilant regard historically accorded in its observance of International Law and its unqualified respect for foreign states' sovereignty, frequently invoked in these troublesome times, the tiresome matter of Washington and State Murder has again fortuitously, for them, been penciled out for close scrutiny by the usual criminal classes - the Mainstream Media and the Establishment Religious Class - as The Pentagon in providing to the Ukrainian Armed Forces US satellite intelligence on the regions within the Eastern Ukraine not protected by Russian aerial anti-missile defense thus to enable the Ukrainian Armed Forces to fire upon civilian targets and so Washington is complicit in war crimes and the waging of aggressive war against civilian targets, conduct unexceptional and not unbecoming since it was the then US President Harry Truman's decision to detonate two brand new Atomic Bombs on a defeated Japan and on civilian targets of no military consequence, even as US General Douglas MacArthur, Supreme Allied Commander, had declared that Japan was defeated and was suing for peace, a matter of no trifling concern when there were larger issues on Washington's geo-political dining table, discussed in prior essays. Thus, the fundamental principle that underpins the Geo-Economic Success Paradigm of The West - London, Washington and Western European States is no respect for state sovereignty in their need to extract resources from those countries while talking the high minded principles of Liberal Democracy to their own populations. Facing into disastrous economic and geo-political decline, the only option of The Leadership Class is to double down and blame foreign states for their domestic policy failures and social instabilities.

The absence of any respect for state sovereignty is both evident from the track record of London and Washington, more recently evidenced in London sending uranium tipped artillery shells to The Ukraine, of which Washington was reticent to do and recently destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces, as reported. Uranium tipped artillery was also used in Washington's War on Iraq and in their effect resemble the so-called radioactive Dirty Bomb of which the Washington - London Mainstream Media occasionally averred to as a means of instill fear into their populations. It was also reported that a radioactive cloud, post-destruction, was drifting west over the eastern Polish border.

President Zelenskyy by a recent speech has assigned Ukrainian state assets to Wall Street banks and so can US Congressional funding to continue the war in The Ukraine be seen as a continuing policy of making the region, or a part of it, safe for American Capital. Such being the case, this would require massive denial of the true progress of The War by the Western Mainstream Media.

"How is US dollars part of the trade between Djibouti and Kenya? . . . Why members, why is it necessary for us to buy things from Djibouti and pay in dollars? Why? There is no reason you and we (applause) and we are not against the US dollar. We just want to trade more freely. Let us pay in US dollars what we are buying from the US. But what we are buying from Djibouti, let's use local currency" - June 2023 and from Kenyan President William Ruto who has also emphasized that African states' banks including state central banks should join the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System which will exclude or bypass the US Dollar. It was on this principle that Iraq and Libya were attacked by The Forces of Universal Goodness as both were acting to move off US Dollar based oil transactions, among other things of a sovereign nature. Addressed previously, censorship most effective is censorship via complete avoidance of the matter of concern and best described as an application of what is an economic concept - the crowding out effect, here meaning that substantive matters in the United States concerning outcomes for people of colour and socio-economic injustices more generally are deflected off to one of interpersonal conduct and entertainment. Socio-economic equity for African States means an end to Western exploitation and a collapse of the Western Economic System, always pitched as it is as The Rules Based International Order, one that is completely avoided with studied efficiency.

"The so-called 'rules-based international order' never tells you what the rules are and who made these rules" - Chinese Defense Minister General Li Shangfu at the Singapore 20th Shangri-La Dialogue and who refused to meet Lloyd Austin. Of course the Chinese Defense Minister knows who makes the rules.

Just as recently, Mr. Anders Rasmussen, a former Prime Minister of Denmark, a former Secretary General of NATO and who majored in Liberal Arts studies - Economics and Tax - and has, as far as we are aware, not formerly graduated in the Military Sciences nor faced down the bullets, who also comes representing a Brussels consultancy and presently the official advisor to Ukrainian President Zelensky, is motivated to inform his Western European audience June, 2023 that - "We should sustain joint training and exercises under EU flag and NATO flag also on Ukrainian soil. We're speaking about billions of Dollars or Euros but we are already doing that . . . Interviewer: But extending the timeline for a very long period? Yes, but we are already stating that we are in this for as long as it takes. I would say the ultimate security guarantee would be for Ukraine to join NATO and be covered by Article V . . . Interviewer: Polling has shown that in some parts of the world, notably the US and Europe support for The Ukraine Cause has been softening just a little bit. Does this concern you as you look to get these massive commitments of dollars? It is a matter of concern obviously and an argument for why we should put a quick end to this conflict. And the way we can put a quick end to the conflict is to deliver all the weapons the Ukrainians need. As I said, longer range missiles, heavy battle tanks, fighter jets . . . Interviewer: I have read references to the US guarantees that it gives Israel for its security. Is that very much like what we are talking about here with Kyiv? Yes it is. Obviously there are differences between Ukraine and Israel but basically we have modeled the Kyiv Security Pact over the security arrangement between the US and Israel. We should not just repeat the language we decided already back in 2008 that Ukraine will become a member of NATO. We decided that back in 2008. It isn't sufficient just to repeat that. We should do something more and I think NATO should decide to say OK, we outlined a roadmap towards Ukrainian membership of NATO. Step two, in the run up to the NATO Summit in Vilnius, some countries led by The US should sign a document giving security guarantees to Ukraine until Ukraine can join NATO. We will need some time to figure out exactly how could Article V cover a country that is maybe still at war . . . Interviewer: How do you think Russia is going to react to this? I don't care! (Applause) . . . Interviewer: So just to sum up here, tell us why it's so important, in your view, to formalize this in this Kyiv Security Compact? The Security Compact is important to, so to speak, fix The Russia Problem. We need a strong and stable Ukraine to ensure more permanent peace and stability on (the) European Continent. And by that, we will free up resources to address the real long term global challenge, namely China".

No loss of the plot line here.

That Mr. Anders Rasmussen really means that he does not care about Russia's reaction is to be doubted and has the appearance of an appealing line, more to the point, running the whole proposition up the flag pole to see who salutes. Some have. Factually, they may not care about Russia's response, hence the appeal for more weapons and a narrative that remains on message with Washington's requirements. Washington Leadership Strategy had as its foundational truth that Russia would be rapidly defeated by NATO's best trained and largest armed forces in Europe and the Russian State then dismembered for strip mine pillaging. The doctrinal public narrative leading up to the Proxy War, read indoctrination, was that the Russian President was a monster, the government was illegitimate and that the Russian people were suppressed and desperate and The West would never negotiate with a terrorist regime. Much the same as was said about all of Washington's prior bête noires. The Western Leadership have made it impossible for themselves to negotiate with the Russian Government of which the former uses this stance with the non-Western world, the majority of the world's states while Washington threatens those states who dismiss their sanctions, join BRICS and moves to trade off the US dollar to using gold backed currencies. Washington's visceral hatred of all things Russian makes it impossible for any Western Leadership to negotiate with the Russian Government and the reason that important Europeans talk to doubling down. There can be no win-win solution here. Both Washington and London incidentally have moved to confiscate the gold of some foreign countries, likely to give backing to their own currencies while citing other more high minded reasons. Factually, the plan to move on Russia dates back to the early 1990's as laid out by various White House functionaries.

Mr. Rasmussen did omit, in that speech excerpt, anything on Western Capital Interests and their possession of Ukrainian state assets via investment vehicles or was it a case that the interviewer never asked?

US Four Star General C. G. Cavoli stated in testimony to the US House Armed Services Committee, 26th April, 2023, something to the effect that The Forces of Universal Goodness have not prevailed over The Anti-Christ and will not prevail, admittedly choosing less prosaic language. He did say that Russia is actually winning the conflict in Ukraine, that "the degradation of the Russian armed forces" was grossly misrepresented by the media and that “Most of the Russian military has not been affected by this conflict", in what is perhaps an authorized broadside following on from prior Pentagon documents leaks against the previously and quite obviously absurd recounts by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chief of The General Staff General Mark Milley, the two most senior American military personnel as their "Russia is on the brink of defeat" narrative is gone pass due. Just what the past due part actually means is that the drivers of Washington Foreign Policy and being those who stayed on when President Joe Biden took over are incompetent, have lied unrelentingly and have really nothing to show for the hundreds of billions of dollars directed to their Ukraine Proxy War unless one considers that this Proxy War has delivered a fully end-to-end tested Russian War Industry and a Russian Political Leadership of unprecedented popularity that no Western Leader can remotely approximate and to make assessments even worse than that, Washington's standard geo-political pressure tactic of sanctions does not work on them. Such a resume of achievements has had everyone else take notice. General Cavoli went on to say something concerning Russia's nuclear weapons capabilities as being "an existential threat to the US" while saying far less in that address of how Washington has been a prime driver of nuclear weapons threats, has abandoned arms treaties and, incidentally, has been the only country to use nuclear weapons and against a defeated, non-nuclear state along with having threatened their use many times. Economic drivers may lie behind this shift in the public admissions, that being that most people pay little attention to the more sobering aspects of Geo-Economics and the true nature of the sovereign state until they face into price increases, unaffordable food and declining work opportunities, save the more sobering outcomes from having serious munitions detonate somewhere nearby. And so . . .

"We were forced to try to end the war that the West started in 2014 by force of arms. And Russia will end this war by force of arms, freeing the entire territory of the former Ukraine from the United States and Ukrainian Nazis. There are no other options."

" - This from US Four Star General Chris Cavoli, Supreme Allied Commander Europe and his opening remarks in addressing an elites' Swedish Conference early in 2023 on some surprising realities arising from what has again not turned out to be a European Turkey Shoot - this one the take down of Russia for the strip mining of Russia's resources. He is correct. European security has been sold out, by them, as the Western Europeans ride kneeling on the coattails of American, read Washington's, foreign policy objectives. It remains difficult to surmise exactly what these self-appointed, unelected Masters of The Universe actually think at any time and so the degree to which General Cavoli believes the Russian Government's move into The Ukraine was indeed unprovoked is the extent to which he avoids the immediate history that White House Luminaries have addressed themselves to and the extent to which the realities are known by military officers and European royal families to lie elsewhere could be the degree to which that narrative serves the present Western European elite narrative. Dissimulation does not trouble some classes when one's luxurious living and privileges require sustainment. General Cavoli, also in his opening remarks, admitted to not being good at Science and so may one be permitted to infer that he is not good at rational analysis nor military affairs, as all military affairs turn on The Military Sciences and rational thought?

"All American wars (except the Civil War) have been fought with the odds overwhelmingly in favor of the Americans. In the history of armed combat such affairs as the Mexican and Spanish-American Wars must be ranked, not as wars at all, but as organized assassinations. In the two World Wars, no American faced a bullet until his adversaries had been worn down by years of fighting others" - H. L. Mencken.

This no Berlin Conference, that Scramble for Africa 1884 and at that time intended, successfully, to avoid conflict within Africa between the seven major foreign Western States, that period from the late 1800's to the early 1900's which had them exert effective and far reaching control over the majority of African geography and resources. It is notable that Africa then as now, rich with resources, was not one unified country under one effective government. It is notable that Russia then as now, rich with resources, is one unified country under one effective and popular government. On appearance, the Russian Government no longer is prepared to negotiate with Western Governments, that is, to allow Western Leaderships to save face before their own populations as Russia and China construct the next one hundred years of The Great Eurasian Union. The East is white-blue-and-red, African and Middle Eastern States are signing on and The West can be easily isolated from the world's resources, of which they have little or nothing.

Conferences in Washington, from 2000 onward and organized by Dr. Brzeziński, could be relabeled The Scramble for Russia and The Ukraine, via The Ukraine and NATO. Other conferences have been organized in Washington and more recently with the intention of preventing China destroying the world order or “changing the world we live in”, as those partaking are known to express these things. The question of just what those changes are or perhaps changing things for the better is not up for consideration when security, threats and weapons systems deals are on the table, attended always by the usual media remarks about the lack of transparency - China and certainly not ignoring the magnanimous transparency in The West on these security matters, courtesy of Mr. Julian Assange and company.

It is either in recognition of this or arising from a disconnect with reality that the highly educated European Commissioner Dr. Josep Borrell around the same period as the above mentioned conference sought to instruct those near and far that "Europe is a garden” but “most of the rest of the world is a jungle and the jungle could invade the garden”. He is correct. They made Europe a garden and they made Africa worse - for Africans and their Anglo-European working class armies who risked their lives to maintain the Anglo-European Order in the service of their elite interests, the Belgium Congo a case in point where the exact numbers of Africans who were killed during the vast extraction of resources for elite Belgium living, estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands or several hundred thousand, remains unknown, a contrived outcome due to the deliberate destruction of historical records that characterized all Anglo-European Governments. Of the present state borders on the African continent, many were created by colonial occupiers and was a cause of social, political and economic effects and great loss of life. Of the exploits of one British SAS Officer who then operated as a mercenary in The Congo, from the "live to spend it" school and briefly discussed, refer prior Substack essay Ukraine Notes - The Long Proxy War IV. He lived to spend it.

One cannot underestimate the need for luxurious living by those so attaining it and it is the private school educated Anglo-European Grandees who remain the most vocal in their criticisms of all things Russian and President Vladimir Putin in particular for rendering their Geo-Economic Success Paradigm past due. They remain committed to pillaging state resources elsewhere but the main prize is gone. Theft of The Yemen's oil reserves remains a case example and a UN Report some years back estimated deaths in Yemen at running to some three hundred thousand, a report of November 2021 that did not figure in Western Mainstream Media and a figure that would not trouble the Anglo-European Grandees as they double down in convincing the domestic populations that Elite Difficulties are their difficulties and rising prices are caused by troublesome foreigners, as always and not by their own Governments, as always. General Cavoli's above mentioned NATO address was attended by the King and Queen of Sweden. They have a great deal to be concerned about. Europe, Britain and North America will decline and at a rate largely determined by the extent to which The Eurasian Union is prepared to trade with them or not and, most particularly, what terms apply and off the US dollar. It is unsurprising that Washington and London are seizing the gold reserves of certain other states, under the usual justifier of Bad State Actors.

European Security, as repetitively recited, is in fact now Elite Insecurity and present circumstances are entirely of their own inept making. In that they are not inept. Their poor working class boys may get the opportunity to defend European Security by compromising another state's security - respect for sovereignty is an illusion in an era of domestic resource scarcity and over-consumption. In an increasingly rare moment of narrative inconsistency within Western Mainstream Media, a major New Zealand media output published a truer account of recent events in The Ukraine, derived from their foreign syndication distributor, to then have that account reversed, have the staff member sent off as suspended from duties and the news broadcast reversed back to the State Approved Narrative. Unlike previous Western conflicts such as Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan, the Ukrainian Proxy War has been attended by the largest and most pervasive media propaganda campaigns observed thus far in the contemporary Western experience. This makes it more likely that the only way out is the same way in - to double down and thus what follows is a major European Continental War which The West will lose. If US-NATO-UK-Ukrainian Forces were somewhat more capable than they have thus demonstrated themselves to be, there would have been in a major war with Russia which they would have lost with devastating consequences to themselves. Could it be construed from General Cavoli's address that this will be their chosen path and so inevitably do they again reassess their abilities to take down the Russian State? The Leadership does have a choice to be honest with their populations and that is not a choice.

Beyond Europe, it has been reported including by himself that President Joe Biden has connections to The Ukraine which extend beyond the limits of normal diplomacy, ones that involve his family and has been briefly discussed. Russia appears to be gearing up to wage a large European Continental War so as to avoid a large continental war or any war with NATO. NATO and EU Leadership, alternatively, have no options outside of admitting to a strategic defeat with Russia other than to double down and threaten Russia with foreign forces in Western Ukraine. They will either threaten Russia and do nothing much beyond war games and special forces terrorist actions or they will carry through for an advance first into The Ukraine and then Russia, or intend to. In any case, Europe will likely decline, say decay, more slowly as European States act as predators within themselves, as Norway has after its involvement in the destruction of Nord Stream gas pipelines, now selling gas to Eastern and Western Europe in place of Russia. It would suit the Washington - London Leadership to again have a European continental war that destroys both Europe and Russia, provided that they stay distant from effects, an outcome that President Putin has clarified - decision centres will be destroyed but so far qualified to only within Ukrainian territory. The European Army poor boys show that human characteristic of being prepared to die for their royal leaderships, those countries that have them and taken in they are by those who present in fine clothing and diamond tiaras. General Cavoli ascribes to NATO an eternal permanence. The leaderships of Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia are demonstrating something of a tendency to collective suicide. The lesson of The Ukraine - Act as a Washington Proxy. Be destroyed. In the Indo-Pacific Region, TaiWan faces into that outcome. Washington remains physically remote. The art and science of convincing others to sacrifice themselves for someone else's interests.

You have to hand it to them. The Washington Crowd are not entirely inept. So . . .

The purpose of The Washington Consensus and Washington Global Strategy is to make enemies and not friends unless those friends exist as Vassal States of The United States who must, by their actions, give definition to the meaning of A Vassal State by conforming to the requirement to buy endless American made armaments and sign on to Washington's Them-and-Us World View. Changing the world we live in is not their cup of sassafras. For those countries, they must cut social programs infrastructure spending and in doing so create a public landscape that does not appear too much different to The United States - degraded infrastructure, dying country towns and cost of living increases. It is in this sense that The United States does actually export its culture and its true nature. All the while the same question continues to circulate and that is why the Russian Armed Forces do not exercise decisive knockout maneuvers to quickly finish of the Washington - London - Brussels Ukrainian Proxy War with major strikes on their domestic military assets and the Kyiv Government. In the broader scheme of things is there never a decisive knockout on a failing state - and here read most Western States, particularly The United States, Great Britain and Western European States - as a major attack can shock a population into unifying behind its failed leadership and coalesce a disparate, fracturing society into unified action for national recovery and revenge. The Russian State will continue to absorb the not quite very best that The West has and will launch against it while causing nightmares within The Centres of Western Thought Leadership as to what exactly Russian General Valery Gerasimov has in mind for those Centres. The Russian General Staff will not be tricked into using their most advanced and secret weapons. Meanwhile, the Western Mainstream Media still manages to run Russian-Loss-Ukrainian-Win narratives directed to what remains within their populations of the deliriously deluded and the true believers. What they will not be deluded about are the far higher prices of everything including the price of money as global supply chains become more difficult and Russia continues with the imposition of its own sanctions. Of Western sanctions on it, the Russian economy continues to perform unremarkably well, the population having unified behind The Leadership over two decades past for national recovery and revenge, not entirely difficult since Eurasia always was The Heartland and Great Britain as with The United States, by and large, derived their greatness from crushing demonstrably weaker states and never peer competitors.

As the Russian Armed Forces bear down upon Kyiv, that constructed Western narrative of a rapid Russian loss now having thoroughly evaporated into The Ether many, many months past and their continuing grip on affairs courtesy of some admixture of Foreign Policy, Military Policy and Mainstream Media Agit Prop by Washington in standing with The Ukraine and whatever that meant also meant standing well away from The Ukraine and the line of fire while Washington - London Grandees did the lying and certain other of the eager Eastern Europeans did the dying, thoughts inevitably now turn to the fate of The West's Stooge-of-The-Moment, the useful President Zelenskyy, that also distant-from-the-line-of-fire national figure whose prime leadership skill was to recite with conviction whatever scripts were run across his richly adorned presidential desk but scripts are not artillery shells and so the list of those in The Ukraine who want their President dead is only attenuated by those Ukrainian soldiers at the front who themselves are dead, his on the other hand closer-at-hand generals whose thoughts are perhaps running to the fate of the Persian King Darius III who was finally killed by his generals when he lost force and effect and then the matter of what is to be done with him by the Washington - London Leadership since President Zelenskyy is the man who knows far too much for his own good and far too much for anyone else's good, would say all the wrong things on American talk shows once he becomes thoroughly disaffected after realizing how used he was and in any case, all cases really, would make for an excellent Martyr-to-The Cause, however that may be constructed, certainly not to fall into the hands of the Russian State to which he is more useful alive than dead in terms of huge propaganda potential if given asylum in Moscow for it remains true that the erstwhile President Hussein of Iraq and President Ghaddafi of Libya were killed by foreign or foreign influenced forces and not by their own with whom they remained popular, their own populations having a fairly good grip on who was trying to kill them and that not being their own leadership, the Ukraine Leadership being an exception to that. The use of famous adult cartoon characters to promote the stand with The Ukraine narrative is emblematic of the most magical of the infantilizing of Western audiences, certain of them, to this form of messaging as cartoon characters, traditionally targeted to children, have been determined, notably by Walt Disney, to tangibly affect the thoughts and feelings of adults, Disney having figured that with the major motion cartoon film, Snow White, wherein the fate of a cartoon character could bring tears to the eyes of the audience. Of note, those cartoon characters themselves are not available for interviews on their thoughts of The Ukraine Proxy War. There is now an established media technique in The Western Mainstream Media in promoting a direction of thinking to present a character, human or cartoon, standing as a block of granite, motionless and staring impassively out of the screen. The captioning or imaging will convey in no uncertain terms what is right think and the narrative makes clear that this is the position, it not a view up for discussion nor critical analysis, any such maneuver is labelled as subversive and the narrative itself provides for right speak.

Since this most recent year evidences a truly great expenditure in armaments ever, the Grandees in Washington are completely out of time and place and those in charge are functionally suicidal. Whether they are consciously suicidal remains a matter of conjecture.

" . . . a coalition allying Russia with both China and Iran can develop only if the United States is shortsighted enough to antagonize China and Iran simultaneously" - The Grand Chessboard, Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski, page 116. He went on to write - ". . .neither Iran nor China were prepared to cast its lot with Russia . . . Both realized that . . . would risk their respective access to the more advanced world . . . ". The advancing world has shifted, Washington has antagonized just about everyone and prior essays have dealt with the strategic failures of Washington's decisions in accelerating The Great Eurasian Union. This brings to mind a prior referenced, diplomatically expressed “insight” by former Egyptian President Nasser in remarking that - "The genius of you Americans is that you never make clear-cut stupid moves, only complicated stupid moves which make the rest of us wonder at the possibility that we might be missing something".

Wide-eyed children from well off families athwart the Western Hemisphere have been posing confrontational, borderline subversive questions of their less than all knowing parents. Questions like - "Just how can Russia, mommy and daddy, a country with an economy the size of Texas, successfully wage their very deadly Ukrainian Campaign and for this long while in sooth leaving the battlescape littered with the corpses of the poor Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel who were quite obviously tricked into this Proxy War by Their Goodly and Far Sighted Kyiv Leadership and so do they lie rotting on The Field of Battle and verily turning black under the Ukrainian sunshine, bloating with gas until they explode and which, by the way, takes about two weeks, mommy and daddy?" And then add knowingly - "Is it not so that Russia's economy is the size of Italy's economy, small as it is and as such a comparison has been made, mommy and daddy and with no disrespect for Italians and who make very good coffee?" And then traversing to the other side of the geo-political map via the North Pacific Ocean for a sobering view of Asia's myriad economic miracles to ask - "How can China, mommy and daddy, overtake the United States in just one decade's time - huh?”

Well, well. If mommy and daddy actually knew anything worth knowing, they would helpfully point out that from a strict economic standpoint, none of these statements are true, military affairs and the wisdom of The Leadership being separate matters. They would hasten to add that the underlying premises are run out on false economic precepts taken with the assumption, largely true, that the economic knowledge of the general population in The West is weak and misguided, a desirable state of affairs for The Leadership Class, not that they actually would necessarily know any better.

The most obstreperous of children will hasten to point out, stacking it on as they do, that Armed Forces Recruitment Videos for public consumption studiously fail to depict these aforementioned fields of battle littered with decomposing corpses and their suppurating injuries oozing infected fluids, to be supped upon by maggots, flies and wild dogs, that part of the Rich Cycle of Life which myriad media and literary dream merchants manage to avoid. The all too apparent stress that always attends answering this penetrating question can readily and instantly be relieved in one anodyne sentence of just seventeen words - The creative designer for military recruitment advertisement copy is not the author of these essays, you see. Seventeen words! Alas - Deconstructing comparative economic measures takes more, kiddies!

Russia has an economy smaller than Italy, the State of Texas and is a gas station with a flag, you see, as the late American Senator John McCain instructed us. Italy, by the way, regularly launches rockets to install satellites in orbit, operates a Space Station, has an advanced aerospace industry, launches working hypersonic missiles that destroy deep underground targets under battlefield conditions and supplies the United States with some jet engines and rocket engines that they are unable to reverse engineer, except that they do not. Russia does. The then Senator John McCain also inquired as to why the United States must purchase advanced engines from Russia but never really said much about why.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) when presented as aggregates short of any detail mislead. Whereas Western economies appear larger and more significant, they are inferior. China and Russia both have dominance in manufacturing, mining and agriculture and Western economies, after both having deindustrialized to Asia as well as running low on resources, including human technical know how, a frequently overlooked factor until recently, are overly reliant on the Services Sector, activities that mostly are not amenable for export and, under harsh economic pressures, many can be forgone or substituted for personal effort. Since industrial economic power underpins military power and military power ultimately backs sanctions, The West is now severely disadvantaged in the present reality of state competition and the new Eurasian State Arrangements that The West has excluded itself from, at least up to now.

Exchange rate measures are inferior and produce misleading state economic comparisons. Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) provides a clearer view of what a state's currency can buy and when multiplied by the size of the population, a different recognition emerges and one not congruent with the dominant Western narrative of superiority. On a PPP basis taken with population size, China's economy has overtaken the United States, more so when recognized that China is a manufacturing powerhouse and the United States no longer is. Similarly, the Russian economy is about the match of Germany's except that Russia is backed by vast resources and Germany is not.

One measure of economic weight is steel production and China's output here exceeds The United States by a factor well over ten and Russia's steel output is close to The United States. Russia has other things that neither The United States nor China do. Often espoused and with much earnestness by even famous Western economists through to elite management consultants that the natural economic cycle of a state was a progression from agriculture to mining to manufacturing and on to services. Often heard. What they left off was the fifth part of that supposed cycle - collapse. When a state loses manufacturing, a lot goes out the door when those factories shift offshore. The one thing left - their Fiat Currency and printing presses, now electronic. It is no accident of outcomes that China's Leadership has been comprised largely of engineers and scientists and China has a huge scientific base.

The fatal flaw in Western Elite Planning is that both China and Russia would compliantly serve their interests with cheap inputs and that they, the Western States, could run de-industrialized service economies, typical of elite thinking when those elites are economists. The American Fortune magazine described this directional change as The Virtual Factory, circa 1980's and meaning that American on-shore companies were to become marketing and brand managers who owned no factories and who directed operations in far off lands and the societies that resulted back home described in prior essays as one of let the good times roll. This questionable success paradigm has collapsed. If the service sector in these countries is discounted and in wartime they lose significance and then when industrial and agricultural power is measured and that is if you have any, China outranks The United States and every other country and Russia outranks all individual European States. Here, the long term value of in-the-ground Russian resources has not been figured. In the limit, industrial power is backed by patented innovations. On this metric, China and Russia together outrank by about two to one the combined major countries of The West - The United States, Japan, South Korea, Germany, France and Britain. In the limit, one could assert that industrial power is backed by resources and this is true if you have the know how to use them, as mirrored in industrial patents.

Thus, the real scale in Russian State Power is its resources, know how and its massive export capacities. Russia is the world’s largest exporter of gas and has the world’s largest known gas reserves. It is the second largest exporter of crude oil, behind the UAE. Russia and China jointly have the most resource power and industrial power and it is this that explains Washington and London's position, along with certain allies, that China and Russia are their prime existential threats. There is clearly a real probability of a disruption in global supply chains if Washington directly, or via NATO or other proxies beyond The Ukraine, goes to war with China and Russia. This probability is increasing and can be seen within the statement by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that the trend of abandoning the dollar for settlements in international trade is irreversible. As countries trade off the US Dollar, Washington can no longer simply create dollars to pay for outputs of real value of other countries and has to buy foreign currencies of the countries they wish to trade with, being unable to threaten them any longer. The US economy collapses and Washington can no longer support its several hundred plus global military bases. That all those military personnel would return to The United States would cause significant social tensions in a down-turned economy without work prospects and rising inflation, that itself the result of excess dollars in free circulation.

This means kiddies, if you are living in The West, that mommy and daddy or maybe mommy and daddy's neighbours will no longer be able to afford your private school fees and you will have to consort with working class people, mommy and daddy will have to sell their second and third cars and maybe their last car to take public transport, if there is any and consort with working class people. The rich cycle of life.

"Britain always has been, is now, and will be our eternal enemy. At least until such time as their arrogant, despicably dank island sinks into the abyss of the sea from a wave triggered by a cutting-edge Russian weapons system" - Dmitry Medvedev, April, 2023.

Mr. Medvedev is perhaps alluding to their hydrogen nuclear weapon armed torpedoes that traverse the vast ocean depths and now hold any aggressive state at risk.

"Let the blessing of the Triune God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, come down on and remain upon these weapons and those who carry them, for the protection of the truth of Christ. Amen".
